Thank you for the manner in which you completed the sealing and coating of the roof of my property. The service has been undertaken in a professional way from start to finish with no hint of a hard sell. During the work every endeavour was made to complete with the minimum of disturbance to my neighbours and myself. The process has certainly improved the appearance of the house and has solved the long standing problem of the moss. I am very pleased with the results.

Environmental Impact

What about the environment?

The cement manufacturing industry is a large producer of carbon dioxide. This comes from the breakdown of limestone and the heat used in the process. Worldwide, the cement industry is responsible for about 5% of anthropogenic CO2 emissions and approaching 2% of UK emissions. Additionally the energy used is mainly (82.5%) from fossil fuels, coal, coke and petroleum coke, and a further 11% from electricity.

During the manufacture of clay tiles a great deal of energy is expended during their firing, which again has a great impact on anthropogenic CO2.

To make one ton of cement, one ton of CO2 is created.

As we avoid re-roofing the timber lathes and battens are retained and not replaced by timber treated with the noxious and harmful chemicals used in the tanalising process, the environment wins again.

By renovating the tiles we effectively recycle in situ. If the tiles are replaced, the old tiles are just consigned to land fill sites exacerbating waste disposal problems. Our alternative process offers very considerable environmental gains.

Our process has minimal detrimental impact on the environment
